General Terms and Conditions
These General Terms and Conditions apply to all services and treatments of The Laser Lab Amsterdam. We advise you to read these terms carefully before making an appointment or undergoing a treatment.
In these general terms and conditions, the following is understood to mean:
1.1 The Laser Lab / the clinic: The Laser Lab Amsterdam BV, trading as “The Laser Lab Amsterdam”, established at Bosboom Toussaintstraat 27h, 1054 AM Amsterdam, registered in the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 42126769, VAT number NL869845469B01.
1.2 Client: the natural person who, whether or not through a third party, enters into an agreement with The Laser Lab, undergoes a treatment, or makes an appointment for that purpose.
1.3 Treatment: any procedure offered or performed by The Laser Lab in the field of laser and light treatments (including hair removal, pigment and vascular treatments, and skin rejuvenation), radiofrequency and microneedling treatments, skin analysis, skin-improving treatments, and related advice, intake, and aftercare services.
1.4 Agreement: any agreement between The Laser Lab and the client for the performance of one or more treatments and/or the supply of products.
1.5 Practitioner: the employee deployed by The Laser Lab (including a skin therapist, laser practitioner, or beautician) who performs or supervises the treatment.
1.6 Package/course: a pre-agreed series of multiple treatments purchased as a whole and at a package price, including multi-session passes and treatment courses.
1.7 Intake: the introductory, anamnesis, and consultation session conducted prior to the (first) treatment, including completing the health questionnaire and signing the informed consent form.
1.8 Contraindication: a circumstance, condition, medication use, or situation in which a treatment may not be performed, either wholly or temporarily, or only under certain conditions.
2.1 These general terms and conditions apply to all offers, agreements, contracts, and treatments between The Laser Lab and the client, as well as to the sale of products and gift vouchers.
2.2 Deviations from these terms and conditions are only valid if agreed upon in writing. In that case, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
2.3 If one or more provisions of these terms and conditions are null and void or are annulled, the remaining provisions shall remain fully applicable. The parties shall then enter into consultation to agree on a replacement provision that approximates the intent of the original provision as closely as possible.
2.4 By making an appointment and/or undergoing a treatment, the client declares to have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. The terms and conditions can be consulted at the clinic and via The Laser Lab's website.
3.1 The agreement is concluded at the moment the client makes an appointment (by telephone, online, by email, or at the clinic) and this is confirmed by The Laser Lab, or at the moment the treatment commences.
3.2 The Laser Lab reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a treatment if, in its professional judgment, there are valid reasons for doing so, including a contraindication, an unrealistic expectation of the client, insufficient cooperation, a suspicion of incorrect or incomplete information, or inappropriate behavior.
3.3 The Laser Lab endeavors to have treatments performed by qualified practitioners but reserves the right to change the practitioner. The client cannot derive any rights from this to treatment by a specific practitioner.
4.1 Prior to the first treatment, an intake takes place. During this intake, the client truthfully completes a health and medical history form and provides all information that is reasonably relevant for the safe and responsible execution of the treatment.
4.2 Certain treatments require the signing of a consent form (informed consent). Without a signed consent form, the treatment in question will not be performed.
4.3 For laser and light treatments, depending on skin type and treatment area, a test treatment (patch test) may be performed to assess the skin reaction. The Laser Lab determines whether a test treatment is necessary.
4.4 Changes in the health situation, medication use, or other relevant circumstances must be reported by the client without being asked before each follow-up treatment. The client is personally responsible for keeping this information up-to-date and complete.
4.5 Before the treatment, The Laser Lab provides the client with information regarding the nature of the treatment, the expected results, possible side effects and risks, the necessary preparation, and aftercare. The client has the opportunity to ask questions about this.
5.1 Laser, light, and skin-improving treatments have contraindications. Depending on the treatment, these may include:
5.2 The client is obliged to report known contraindications, conditions, and medication use in advance. The Laser Lab is not liable for damage resulting from information not provided, not provided in a timely manner, or provided incorrectly by the client.
5.3 The Laser Lab may postpone, modify, or refuse a treatment if a contraindication is identified or suspected. In that case, amounts already paid for treatments not performed will be offset or, if offsetting is not possible, refunded, with the exception of the costs of the intake or trial treatment already performed.
6.1 The client provides, to the best of their knowledge, all information relevant to the proper execution of the treatment and follows the directions and advice of the practitioner.
6.2 The client adheres to the preparation instructions, including avoiding sun and sunbeds, not removing hair themselves other than as instructed, and cleansing the skin as prescribed.
6.3 The client is personally responsible for promptly reporting changes in contact details and health situation.
6.4 If the client fails to follow the directions, preparation or aftercare instructions, The Laser Lab is not liable for the resulting consequences and the intended result may fail to occur, either wholly or partially.
7.1 All treatments are performed on the basis of a best-efforts obligation. The Laser Lab makes every effort to achieve an optimal result, but cannot guarantee a specific outcome.
7.2 The Laser Lab performs the treatments in compliance with applicable hygiene, safety, and quality standards and with equipment that is maintained and operated in accordance with the regulations.
7.3 The Laser Lab is entitled to interrupt or terminate the treatment if this is necessary from a medical or safety perspective.
8.1 The result of a treatment depends on many individual factors, including skin type, hair color and structure, hormonal influences, age, medication use, lifestyle, and the extent to which the client follows the instructions. Results may therefore vary from person to person.
8.2 For most laser and skin-improving treatments, multiple treatments are required, and consistently following up the advised interval, to achieve optimal results. The estimated number of treatments is an indication and not a guarantee; the actual number required may turn out to be higher or lower.
8.3 The Laser Lab provides no guarantee of a complete or permanent result, including no guarantee of a specific percentage of hair reduction or the permanent disappearance of pigment, capillaries, or skin imperfections. New hair growth, hormonal changes, or the reappearance of skin features are all possibilities.
8.4 At the start of a package or course, the expected results and the indicative treatment plan will be discussed. Failure to achieve the result desired by the client does not entitle them to a refund, provided that The Laser Lab has performed the treatments properly.
9.1 After the treatment, the client receives aftercare instructions, verbally and/or in writing. The client is obliged to follow these.
9.2 Unless otherwise advised, the following recommendations apply after laser and light treatments: avoid sun, sunbeds, or self-tanners during the period indicated by the practitioner; use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily (minimum SPF 30, preferably SPF 50); do not scratch, peel, or rub the treated area; avoid saunas, steam baths, intense exercise, and hot baths for 24 to 48 hours; and keep the skin sufficiently hydrated.
9.3 Temporary reactions such as redness, swelling, a warm sensation, mild crusting, or a temporary change in skin color may be normal and usually resolve on their own. In the event of persistent or unusual symptoms, the client should contact The Laser Lab as soon as possible.
9.4 The Laser Lab is not liable for consequences arising from the client's failure to follow the aftercare instructions, or following them insufficiently.
10.1 The current rates are listed on the price list in the clinic and/or on the website. All prices are in euros and include VAT, unless expressly stated otherwise.
10.2 The Laser Lab is entitled to adjust its rates periodically. For packages and courses that have already been paid for, the price agreed upon at the time of purchase applies.
10.3 Obvious errors or mistakes in quotations do not bind The Laser Lab.
10.4 Offers and promotions are valid during the indicated period and while stocks last; they cannot be combined with other promotions, discounts, or vouchers, unless otherwise stated.
11.1 A package or course is purchased and paid for as a whole and at a package price that is more advantageous than the sum of the individual treatments.
11.2 Treatments from a package or multi-session card are personal and non-transferable to third parties, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
11.3 A package or multi-session pass is valid for [12] months after the date of purchase, unless a different term has been agreed in writing. After the expiration of the validity period, unused treatments expire without entitlement to a refund.
11.4 In principle, packages and courses that have already been paid for will not be (partially) refunded. Any negative or open balance remains due.
11.5 If a treatment from a package cannot be continued due to a contraindication or for medical reasons, The Laser Lab will consult with the client regarding a suitable solution, such as postponement, adjustment, or offsetting.
12.1 Gift cards and credit vouchers are valid for the period stated on the card and, failing that, for the statutory period.
12.2 Gift cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be combined with other offers, unless otherwise stated. No replacement will be provided in the event of loss or theft.
12.3 A gift voucher for a treatment will only be redeemed after an intake has taken place and no contraindications have been found.
13.1 Payment for individual treatments and products is made immediately after the treatment at the clinic, and exclusively by debit card. Packages and courses are paid in full at the start in 3 installments, with payment taking place during the first 3 treatments.
13.2 For appointments booked online, The Laser Lab may require a (partial) prepayment or deposit as a condition of the reservation.
13.3 In the event of payment by invoice, a payment term of 14 days after the invoice date applies. In the event of late payment, the client is automatically in default and statutory interest is due. Extrajudicial collection costs shall be borne by the client in accordance with the statutory scale.
13.4 The Laser Lab is entitled to suspend (further) treatments as long as the client has not fulfilled a due payment obligation.
14.1 An appointment made is binding for the client. If the client is unable to attend, the appointment must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance, by telephone or via the method indicated by The Laser Lab.
14.2 In the event of cancellation less than 24 hours before the appointment, or in the event of a no-show, The Laser Lab is entitled to charge for the reserved treatment time up to a maximum of 50% of the treatment price, or 25% thereof for cancellation between 24 and 48 hours in advance.
14.3 If the client arrives more than 10 minutes late, the treatment time may be shortened or the appointment rescheduled; the full fee remains payable.
14.4 The Laser Lab may reschedule an appointment due to illness, the practitioner's inability to attend, equipment malfunction, or other unforeseen circumstances. The Laser Lab will endeavor to inform the client of this as soon as possible and offer a new appointment. In that case, the client is not entitled to compensation.
15.1 In principle, treatments are performed exclusively on persons aged 18 and older.
15.2 For clients between the ages of 16 and 18, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required, as well as their presence at the intake. The Laser Lab assesses on a case-by-case basis whether treatment is appropriate.
15.3 Certain treatments are not performed on minors. The Laser Lab reserves the right to refuse treatment to a minor at any time.
16.1 The Laser Lab adheres to the applicable hygiene and safety guidelines. The client is responsible for maintaining good personal hygiene of the area to be treated.
16.2 During laser treatments, wearing the provided eye protection is mandatory. The client shall follow the safety instructions of the practitioner.
16.3 The Laser Lab may refuse (further) access or treatment to a client who does not comply with the house rules, is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or behaves inappropriately or aggressively, without entitlement to a refund.
17.1 The Laser Lab processes personal data, including health data, exclusively in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its privacy statement, which can be consulted at the clinic and on the website.
17.2 The data is processed for the purpose of executing the treatment agreement, creating a file, invoicing, and — insofar as the client has given consent for this — for communication and marketing purposes.
17.3 The Laser Lab does not retain the data longer than necessary and in compliance with statutory retention periods. The client has the right to access, correction, deletion, and transfer of their data and may withdraw given consent at any time.
17.4 All employees of The Laser Lab are bound to confidentiality regarding information that becomes known to them by virtue of their position.
18.1 For the purpose of documentation and assessment of the treatment result, The Laser Lab may take photographs of the treatment area (for example, before and after images). These are treated confidentially and form part of the client file.
18.2 Visual material is used exclusively for promotional or educational purposes if the client has given explicit written consent for this in advance. This consent may be withdrawn at any time for future use.
19.1 The Laser Lab performs its work as a reasonably competent and reasonably acting professional. Liability for damages is limited to cases involving intent or gross negligence on the part of The Laser Lab.
19.2 The Laser Lab is not liable for damage resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or untimely information provided by the client, from an undisclosed contraindication, or from failure to follow the given preparation and aftercare instructions.
19.3 The Laser Lab is not liable for expected and/or temporary reactions to the treatment, such as redness, swelling, blistering, scabs, or temporary pigment changes, nor for the failure to achieve the desired result, provided that the treatment has been performed properly.
19.4 If and to the extent that The Laser Lab is liable, its liability is limited to the amount paid out in the relevant case under its professional/business liability insurance, plus the deductible. If, for any reason whatsoever, no payment is made, liability is limited to a maximum of the invoice amount of the relevant treatment.
19.5 Liability for indirect damage, including consequential damage, loss of income, and non-material damage, is excluded.
19.6 The Laser Lab is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to the client's personal property in or around the clinic.
19.7 Any claim for compensation shall lapse if it is not submitted in writing to The Laser Lab within one month of its occurrence.
20.1 In the event of force majeure, The Laser Lab is entitled to suspend the performance of the agreement or to dissolve the agreement in whole or in part, without being liable for any compensation.
20.2 Force majeure includes, but is not limited to: illness or absence of personnel, malfunction or defect of equipment, failure of utilities, fire, government measures, epidemics and pandemics, and other circumstances beyond the control of The Laser Lab.
21.1 The Laser Lab strives for satisfied clients. Complaints regarding a treatment or the way clients were treated must be reported to The Laser Lab in writing (by e-mail) and with a clear description as soon as possible, but no later than two weeks after the treatment or discovery, so that the complaint can be investigated and, if possible, remedied.
21.2 The Laser Lab acknowledges receipt of the complaint and will, in principle, respond substantively within two weeks. The parties endeavor to reach a solution jointly.
21.3 Filing a complaint does not suspend the client's payment obligation.
21.4 If a complaint is not resolved by mutual agreement, the client may submit the dispute to the competent dispute resolution body with which The Laser Lab is affiliated, or to the competent court.
22.1 The Laser Lab is entitled to suspend or terminate the agreement if the client fails to fulfill his obligations under the agreement, or fails to do so in a timely or proper manner, or if continuation of the treatment is not justifiable from a medical or safety point of view.
22.2 Obligations which by their nature are intended to continue after termination, including confidentiality, liability and applicable law, shall remain in force.
23.1 All intellectual property rights to advice, treatment plans, texts, images, logos, and other communications provided by The Laser Lab belong to The Laser Lab. Reproduction or publication thereof without prior written permission is not permitted.
24.1 The Laser Lab is entitled to amend these general terms and conditions. The amended terms and conditions will be made available at the clinic and on the website and will apply from the indicated effective date.
24.2 The terms and conditions applicable at the time of conclusion shall continue to apply to agreements already concluded and ongoing packages, unless the change results from mandatory law.
25.1 All agreements between The Laser Lab and the client are governed exclusively by Dutch law.
25.2 Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court of the District Court of Amsterdam, without prejudice to the client's right to choose settlement by the legally competent court within one month after The Laser Lab has invoked this clause in writing.
24.2 The terms and conditions applicable at the time of conclusion shall continue to apply to agreements already concluded and ongoing packages, unless the change results from mandatory law.
26.1 These General Terms and Conditions enter into force on July 1, 2026, and replace all previous versions.
26.2 In the event of a conflict between these terms and conditions and agreements agreed upon in writing and expressly with the client, the written agreements shall prevail.
